Buried

It’s what he’d want, isn’t it? I’m not sure Buried puts people on its covers but then again I don’t actually have a subscription to an afterlife mag so who knows. Anyway, I had a major crush on Beej in the cartoon version. Michael Keaton was fantastically repulsive yet weirdly attractive as a trashy ghost, but when I was too young to fully appreciate that, the cartoon appealed to my tiny self like little else at the time. Green teeth, that’s where it’s at.

a few years ago, that movie beat out The Lost Highway and PI as my favorite movie ever. I bought the DVD and watched it five times in three days.

I understand that! I keep marvelling at the wit and the imagination and the sheer fun that went into its creation. A trashy ghost with a dodgy calling – there should be a whole new series or franchise there, not just the (admittedly adorable) cartoon.
