I’ve recommended these before, but as new material is added my passion for them grows even more:
[Lilly Mackenzie and the Mines of Charybdis] by Simon Frazer
I tend to get sufficient emounts of good, hearty SF from bandes dessinĂ©es, and I’d like to recommend several here, but for those unable to read French here’s something at least as worthwhile: an absolutely winsome mix of adventure, humour, and genuine thrill – even horror – all rounded up by fantastic artwork. Ongoing, now at the beginning of its third chapter, and I’m dying to find out what comes next.
Wally Torta’s daily sketches at [CrackSkullBob]
I can never decide what I like best in here – the quick but obviously masterful, confident artwork, or the hilarious text that accompanies his blog entries, sometimes stream-of-consciousness, sometimes spot-on commentary on everyday life. There is such freedom and variety in his images that I cannot but be constantly inspired and educated by it.
